On the 4th of May, a pirate junk sailed to British Waters off Nam (Chinese Territory) with
seven pirates who collected $5 from each fishing junk in British Waters under threats of being pirated. They
also levied $300 from the inhabitants of Nam 0, but
the people did not pay. Thirty Rolice from Tai Pang
City were sent to surround the place and the seven
pirates were captured. There were five other confederates
on the boat who managed to sail away, but not before
one had been shot and wounded. The seven men who were
captured were brought to Tam Shui where they admitted
being pirates. On the 20th May four of them were
executed and the other three who denied the charge
are still being detained.
